IntoUniversity Nottingham West

IntoUniversity Nottingham West was our first centre opened in partnership with The University of Nottingham. It launched in February 2012, marking our first step as a national educational charity.

Sophie Houghton

Sophie Houghton is our Team Leader at our Nottingham West centre. Sophie has a degree in European Social and Political Studies with French from UCL and a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam. She has recently completed her Masters of Education at the University of Manchester. 

Laura Culverhouse

Laura Culverhouse is our Nottingham and Leeds Cluster Manager based at our Nottingham West centre. She joined us in July 2012 as Centre Leader for our second Nottingham centre. Laura is currently on maternity leave. 

Nicole Richardson

Nicole Richardson joined us in August 2016. Nicole has a degree in Educational Studies from the University of East Anglia. She previously worked as an Outreach Executive at the Prince’s Trust. 

Ellen Fisher

Ellen Fisher joined us in August 2016. Ellen has a degree in English from the University of Nottingham, and a Masters in Viking and Anglo-Saxon Studies. She previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Name Studies.

Ash Watts

Ash Watts is Lead Senior Project Worker for our NCOP project in Nottingham. Ash studied Sports Studies at The University of Central Lancashire and was previously a teacher.

Alice Hunter

Alice Hunter joined us in April 2017 as a Project Worker for our NCOP project in Nottingham. She has a degree in English Language and French from the University of Manchester. Alice previously worked as a teaching assistant. 

Lucy Helmsley

Lucy Helmsley joined our NCOP team in April 2017. She graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Psychology. Lucy previously volunteered as a progression mentor with the Princes Trust and as a Youth Development Intern with IntoUniversity.

Monday

Secondary Academic Support 

4pm - 5.30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.  

UCAS Drop In (Years 11-13) 

4pm - 5.30pm 

Advice on UCAS applications, interview techniques, and gap year choices.


Tuesday and Wednesday 

Primary Academic Support 

3.30pm - 5pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and a target approach to improving literacy and numeracy.  


Thursday   

Secondary Academic Support 

4pm - 5.30pm 

UCAS Drop In (Years 11-13) 

4pm - 5.30pm 

Advice on UCAS applications, interview techniques, and gap year choices.
