Miranda Green's piece on 'The classroom divide in education' discussed IntoUniversity's work to improve social mobiltity, focusing on the charity's early intervention work and our new learning centre in Finsbury Park, which opened in November.

IntoUniversity North Islington launches

On Wednesday 16th November 2016 we celebrated the opening of our 22nd learning centre, IntoUniversity North Islington.
We welcomed over 100 supporters to the centre, and heard from Today programme presenter and Islington resident Nick Robinson, as well as former IntoUniversity Brent student Jack Galvin and IntoUniversity's Chief Executive and Co-Founder Dr Rachel Carr.
We're excited to be supported by a prestigious range of partners in Islington, including: Westminster School; St Paul's Girls' School; Eton College; City of London School; Wadham College, University of Oxford; Corpus Christi College, Univesity of Cambridge; The Queen's Trust; Impetus Private Equity Foundation and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

IntoUniversity wins CASE Circle of Excellence Award
IntoUniversity was awarded a Silver Circle of Excellence Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for our fundraising work with the University of Leeds.
The Circle of Excellence Award recognises our targeted fundraising campaign to open our two Leeds learning centres in Harehills and Beeston.
CASE judges were particularly impressed by the local nature of our fundraising, involving IntoUniversity, the University and the wider community.
One of the world’s largest professional associations serving educational institutions, CASE works with more than 3,600 universities, colleges, and schools in 80 countries. Our entry with the University of Leeds was the only European winner in the Silver category.

IntoUniversity and UBS shortlisted for Dragon Awards
We are pleased to announce that IntoUniversity has been shortlisted for the Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards with our partner UBS. Our work in Hackney is up for an award in the Education and Lifelong Learning category.

On 12th May 2016 IntoUniversity was awarded a Better Society Award as national charity partner of UBS. We are delighted to have our longstanding partnership with UBS recognised in this way.

Launch of IntoUniversity Leeds South
Our second Leeds centre, IntoUniversity Leeds South, had its official launch in Beeston on Wednesday 27th April 2016.
The centre was opened by Sir Alan Langlands, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds, one of IntoUniversity's prestigious partner universities.
We welcomed over 60 IntoUniversity supporters from Leeds and further afield to the centre at Hillside in Beeston. Guests enjoyed speeches from Sir Alan Langlands, Alex Simpson, Chair of the Asda Foundation, and Dr Rachel Carr, CEO of IntoUniversity.
We also heard from two fantastic student speakers - Aliyah and Naaem.
New report published by Fair Education Alliance
Today, Wednesday 13th April, sees the launch of a new report by the Fair Education Alliance examining educational inequalities in the UK.
The latest State of the Nation Report Card sets out five Impact Goals designed to make education fairer.
IntoUniversity is one of over 50 organisations which make up the Fair Education Alliance, and the charity is proud to be contributing to the Alliance's fifth goal: narrowing the gap in university graduation, including from the 25% most selective universities.

IntoUniversity CEO features in Charity Timesmagazine
IntoUniversity's Chief Executive Dr Rachel Carr OBE is interviewed in this month's edition of the Charity Times magazine, following IntoUniversity's win at the Charity Times Awards in October 2015.
Rachel talked to Matt Ritchie about IntoUniversity's growth from a local community project to a national network of centres across 7 UK cities.

Bristol South centre launch
IntoUniversity Bristol South had its official launch on Tuesday 1 March 2016 in Hartcliffe.
We welcomed students, parents and representatives from our university, corporate and trust partners to celebrate IntoUniversity's second centre in Bristol, which has been opened in partnership with the University of Bristol, the University of Bath and the University of Exeter.
Professor Les Ebdon, Director of Fair Access to Higher Education, cut the ribbon to formally open IntoUniversity Bristol South.
Guests enjoyed speeches from Professor Ebdon and IntoUniversity's Chief Executive Dr Rachel Carr, as well as student speakers Jodie-Marie (Year 6) and Kieran (Year 10).

We are delighted to announce that our longstanding partnership with global financial services firm UBS has made the shortlist in the Better Society Awards 2016.

IntoUniversity launches first centre in Southampton
IntoUniversity Southampton West was formally opened by Professor Alex Neill, Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Southampton at a special launch event on Tuesday 2nd February.
IntoUniversity students, parents and supporters packed out the Holy Family Catholic Church hall to celebrate the centre's official launch and enjoyed speeches from Professor Alex Neill, Dr Rachel Carr and IntoUniversity students Scott and Lucy.
