IntoUniversity Hackney Downs

IntoUniversity Hackney Downs was our tenth centre, opening in our 10th anniversary year. The centre held its official launch in February 2013 and was opened by Richard Hardie from our supporter UBS.

April Reading - Centre Leader

April Reading joined us in August 2016 and is our Centre Leader in Hackney Downs. April has a degree in the Study of Religions from SOAS. She has previously worked as a Workshop Assistant and Play Worker. 

Hamima Khatun

Hamima Khatun joined us in January 2019. Hamima has a degree in Psychology and Language Sciences from University College London. She has previously worked as an English Tutor.

Saida Warsame

Saida Warsame joined us in has a degree in Sociology from The University of Westminster. She previously was a Teaching Assistant.

Viknesh Jeevachandran

Viknesh Jeevachandran joined us in January 2020 and has a Pschology degree from the University of Bath. Viknesh previously was a group leader for The Social Mobility Foundation and an Outreach Ambassador for Bath’s Widening Participation Officer.

Monday 

Secondary Academic Support  

4pm - 5:30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.     


Tuesday and Wednesday 

Primary Academic Support  

3.30pm - 5pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and a target approach to improving literacy and numeracy.  


Thursday   

Secondary Academic Support  

4pm - 5:30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.
