IntoUniversity East Ham

Our first centre in Newham opened its doors to local young people in October 2013.

Rosy Smith

Rosy Smith is our Centre Leader at IU East Ham. She has a degree in Geography and previously worked as an after-school coordinator. 

Caitlin Dalgleish

Caitlin Dalgleish joined us in January 2016. Caitlin has a degree in Early Childhood Studies with Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education from the University of East London and a PGCE from the Institute of Education. Caitlin previously worked as a Teacher.

Billy Beenham

Billy Beenham joined us in August 2016. Billy has a degree in History and Politics from the University of Coventry. He previously worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

Sathya Gunetilleke

Sathya Gunetilleke joined us in August 2016. Sathya has a degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of East London. She previously worked as a Tutor for Explore Learning.

What's on at the centre?

Monday 

Secondary Academic Support  

4pm - 5:30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.     


Tuesday and Wednesday 

Primary Academic Support  

3.30pm - 5pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and a target approach to improving literacy and numeracy.  


Thursday   

Secondary Academic Support  

4pm - 5:30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.    


Year 11-13 can phone or email to book an appointment for advice on UCAS applications, interview techniques, and gap year choices.
