IntoUniversity Leeds East

Our first centre in Leeds opened in Harehills in October 2014 in partnership with the University of Leeds and The Queen's Trust.

Becky Taylor

Becky Taylor​ joined us in 2017 as Team Leader (maternity cover) for our Leeds East centre. Becky studied English Literature at The University of Sheffield and she previously worked as a Senior Mentor for The Challenge. 
 

 

Rosie Kenwood

Rosie Kenwood is Centre Leader at our Leeds East centre. She is currently on maternity leave. 

Jake Oxby

Jake Oxby joined us in August 2014 as a graduate-trainee Education Worker. Jake studied Sports Business Management at Leeds Metropolitan University and has worked as a Student Ambassador and also as a Tri-Golf and Football Coach.

Olivia McMurray

Olivia McMurray joined us in August 2016. Olivia has a degree in Psychology from the University of Sheffield. She previously worked as a Widening Participation Mentor.

Helen Dermody

Helen Dermody joined us in January 2017. Helen has a degree in English Language for Education from the University of Manchester. She previously worked as a Student Ambassador. 

Jane Dickinson

Jane Dickinson is our Project Leader for NCOP in Leeds, based at our Leeds East centre. She has a degree from Newcastle University and a PGCE from the University of Leeds. Jane was previously Head of Geography at a school in Leeds. 

Jenny Fairfax

Jenny Fairfax joined us in January 2017. She works on our NCOP project and is based at our Leeds East centre. Jenny has a degree in History from the University of Liverpool and previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in India. 

Elena May-Jones

Elena May-Jones​ joined us in August 2017. Elena has a degree from the University of Leeds. She previously worked as a Campaigns and Democracy Intern at Leeds Students Union as well as a Community Project Co-ordinator. 

Sarah Finnigan

Sarah Finnigan​ joined us in August 2017. Sarah has a degree in Geography Industrial from The University of Leeds. She previously volunteered at our ​Leeds East centre and has worked as a Camp Leader at a children’s holiday camp.

What's on at the centre?

Monday 

Secondary Academic Support

4:00pm - 5.30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.     
 


Tuesday and Wednesday 

Primary Academic Support 

3:30pm - 5:00pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and a target approach to improving literacy and numeracy.  
 


Thursday   

Secondary Academic Support

4:00pm - 5.30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.
