Our first centre in Leeds opened in Harehills in October 2014 in partnership with the University of Leeds and The Queen's Trust.

Laura McGregor - Centre Leader

Laura McGregor joined us in January 2016. Laura has a degree in Education Studies from the University of Bedfordshire and previously worked as a Group Counsellor at a summer camp and an Orphanage Support Worker in Ghana.

Lydia Collier

Lydia Collier joined us in March 2020. Lydia has a degree in Applied Social Science from the University of York. She previously worked as a Student Ambassador and was a Volunteer Mentor at The Island charity in York.

Leah Niven

Leah Niven joined us in August 2018 and is our Secondary Exclusions Project Coordinator. Leah has a degree in Sociology from the University of Leeds and was a Mentor at IntoUniversity Leeds South. 

Akbar Faisal

Akbar Faisal joined us in August 2021. Akbar has a Politics degree from the University of Bradford. Previously, he was Discovery Manager at Outwood Academy Acklam and a volunteer at Open Door North East

What's on at the centre?

Monday 

Secondary Academic Support

4:00pm - 5.30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.     
 


Tuesday and Wednesday 

Primary Academic Support 

3:30pm - 5:00pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and a target approach to improving literacy and numeracy.  
 


Thursday   

Secondary Academic Support

4:00pm - 5.30pm 

Support from graduate staff and university-educated volunteers on schoolwork and exam revision.
