Nilufer von Bismarck spent her career at Slaughter and May where she was a partner for 27 years. She retired in May 2021. Whilst at the firm, she had a wide corporate, commercial and financing practice which included private and public mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs, financings, equity and debt capital markets transactions and corporate governance.

She became head of one of the corporate groups and also led the financial institutions and equity capital markets groups at the firm. She was one of two partners leading the diversity and inclusion programme at the firm. Nilufer joined Legal & General, a leading UK financial services provider,as a non executive director in May 2021 and sits on the audit, risk, technology and nominations and governance committees. She is also climate director and director for employee engagement.
