IntoUniversity Graduate Scheme

Salary: £21,000 per annum (plus a £600 London contribution if based in a London centre)

We are looking for high-calibre recent graduates to join our teams across Bristol, London and Nottingham as Graduate Trainee Education Workers delivering our widening participation programme to children and young people aged 7-18. You will be based at one of our local learning centres and will have responsibility for working with your Team Leader to plan and deliver the IntoUniversity programme.

The role will be fast-paced and challenging. Each day you will be contributing directly to the success of the charity and transforming the fortunes of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. You will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people and be up for leading a class of 30 secondary school students from the front, working with small teams of children and providing occasional one-to-one support.

Team Leader

Location: IntoUniversity North Islington, 29 Marriott Road, London, N4 3QN
Salary: £27,100 (incl. a £600 London contribution) 
Start date: 08 January 2018

As our Team Leader in North Islington you will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre including planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders (including our university partners) and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. However a substantial element of this role is delivering on the ground our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18. You will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support. This is not a desk job!

The role will be fast-paced and challenging. Each day you will be contributing directly to the success of the charity and the transformation of the lives of some of the UK’s most disadvantaged young people. Flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are all necessary for your day-to-day routine. You will be proactive and able to use your initiative at all times. You will have excellent organisational skills and be highly efficient.

You will have a minimum 2.1 honours degree (or a PGCE in addition to a 2:2 degree) and at least two years’ full-time (or equivalent) paid experience working with children and young people in a relevant role, for example working as a teacher or youth worker. You will also have substantial experience of managing projects and people, have excellent written and oral communication skills and will be committed to managing your centre for a minimum of 2 years.

Corporate Partnerships Manager

Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum depending on experience (incl. a £600 London contribution)

As Corporate Partnerships Manager you will play a leading role in a team of ten with an impressive track record of raising funds from trusts, foundations, corporates and individual donors, as well as securing funding from universities. The team’s success has recently been recognised with an international award for excellence from CASE for a campaign run in partnership with the University of Leeds.

We are looking for someone with experience of corporate fundraising or corporate volunteering partnerships who enjoys getting businesses involved in social action. You will need to have excellent writing skills and attention to detail in order to produce high quality bids. You will also be someone who can come up with creative but practical ways of finding and maximising funding opportunities.  You will have excellent inter-personal skills to enable you to build strong working partnerships with CSR teams. Crucially, you will have a genuine passion for the mission and values of IntoUniversity.

You will have a 2.1 honours degree and at least two years’ full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working working in a charity or education context. You will also have the ability to produce very high quality copy and presentations in a range of different styles, alongside efficient research skills and to be able to analyse, summarise and present information clearly and accurately.
