Corporate volunteers act as role models and give our young people an invaluable insight into the world of work.
Corporate volunteers act as role models and give our young people an invaluable insight into the world of work.
Volunteers from our corporate partners are integral to the success of the IntoUniversity programme, providing crucial support and positive role models for our students, as well as invaluable experiences and opportunities. We have a range of engagement opportunities for staff teams to get involved with, which suit a variety of interests, availability and expertise. Our volunteering opportunities can fit around different work schedules and can take place at a number of convenient locations, including online.
Volunteering is a key element of a corporate partnership with IntoUniversity, and the majority of our corporate volunteering opportunities are reserved for volunteers from our corporate partners. IntoUniversity does incredible work in the social mobility space. It’s always a pleasure volunteering to support their young people by opening their eyes to the range of careers available to them. IntoUniversity’s events are always so well organised and the students are highly engaged and ask great questions.Robert Powell, Weil
A high-impact, one day opportunity, hosted by a corporate partner, for corporate volunteers to support a group of Secondary students through an employability-focused business simulation. With the support of volunteers, young people learn about the world of work and develop key skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership.
A series of volunteer-led, interactive sessions to introduce a group of Secondary students to different career options and deepen their understanding of the working world. Volunteers introduce students to their own career and run an interactive activity linking to what they do. Our corporate partners also have the opportunity to host a Careers in FOCUS Celebration, welcoming a group of students to their office to discover what the firm does and reflect on all their learning from the series of Careers in FOCUS sessions.
IntoUniversity’s Corporate Mentoring scheme is a one-to-one mentoring programme supporting a student in their final year of school with the transition to Higher Education.
Mentors will be given the opportunity to develop a one-on-one relationship with one of our older students, providing vital pastoral support during a crucial period of transition and opening their eyes to new career paths and opportunities.
A flexible online mentoring programme supporting IntoUniversity alumni (aged 18+), who are at university or another chosen pathway, via our platform – IU Connect. IU Connect mentors provide tailored guidance to students in areas such as networking, CV support, interview preparation and job application guidance.
Our Staff Mentoring programme is a one-to-one mentoring scheme for volunteers to support a member of the IntoUniversity management team. Staff Mentors provide advice and guidance, enabling our staff to grow and develop professionally within the charity.
Corporate volunteers act as role models and give our young people, like Hani, an invaluable insight into the world of work.
A flexible, volunteer-led day introducing a group of young people (aged 15+) to your sector and firm, inspiring them to think about their futures. Activities can include speed networking, mock interviews and an interactive activity mimicking the volunteers’ role(s).
A three-week, paid internship at your offices for a group of at least five students in their final year of school, for which IntoUniversity conducts all application and selection processes. Ahead of the internship, volunteers can support students with preparing their applications, practicing for interviews as well as represent their firm at a student insight day. During the internship, volunteers can support students with tasks, be their buddy, or run sessions on aspects of the firm.
An opportunity to support our student alumni in a week-long entrepreneurial programme as they develop their own products to sell at a real market. Volunteers can run a masterclass on crucial business skills, or provide guidance and mentorship to one of the student teams.
Academic Support is an after-school programme held in our centres to assist students with their schoolwork. We welcome volunteers to support students’ academic progress and provide inspiration and encouragement. All volunteers receive training and will need to commit to one session per week for at least one school term.
IntoUniversity warmly welcomes volunteers to utilise their professional expertise to support our vital functions including fundraising, events, HR, IT, finance and communications to enable us to continue developing best-practice, and meeting and exceeding our goals.
